Title: tear you apart
Rating: G
Words: 988
Theme: "their eyes met in a crowded room"
Pairing: kaoru/toshiya
Disclaimer: not mine.
Summary: read it :D
Their eyes met in a crowded room, and suddenly, it was like everything else faded, you know? like in the movies, and right then and there, there was just toshiya's and kaoru's stare. No more electro music stuff, no heated bodies moving along, no smoky atmosphere. It could be perfect, if you think, like in the movies, maybe even adding some fluffy background music.
But it was far from being perfect.
There was something wrong.
Their eyes.
Toshiya's ones were widened with shock, with dissapoint, with disgust. They were huge and brutally honest. They were the pain. They were the tears, in the end.
Kaoru's ones were full with remorse and guilt. They were slightly narrowed and icy. They were the regret. They were the sudden warth.
Toshiya didn't expect to go out that night, he didn't expect to end up in a crowded pub full of people dancing. And he didn't expect to find kaoru there, not even, with his tongue down up someone's else mouth. It's not that his relationship with kaoru was perfect, it's not that even there was a relationship at all... something like an of unspoken contract that said that noone of them should go and screw up with someone if they felt like doing it. It just wasn't like that. They were, more or less, just friends that looked for body heat and understanding when they felt like noone else could do.
There was just night visits, maybe sometimes just for a movie or an anime, sometimes just for talking, sometimes just for holding each other for hours and hours. And, sometimes; it was just for the sex. For the lack of it, for the need of it. There were no words after it, not even before it. There was just the desire and the lust towards other and the satisfaction feeling after it.
In fact there was no more.
Then why Toshiya felt so bad when he saw kaoru kissing a girl at that pub, and, why did he feel even worse when he found kaoru staring back at him. He felt too vulnerable against kaoru's eyes, they were so powerful that he felt like he couldn't fight against them. So he could only think about running, and running he did. Not even thinking about the people he started pushing, he ran and ran towards the door, the cold wind hitting his chest and his face, tears running down there already.
"Shit..." kaoru muttered to himself when he saw toshiya running away. He didn't even feel drunk anymore. He can't even remember why he started make out with that girl. He just could feel regret, he couldn't even see why, but he just started running and following toshiya, pushing people. When he finally found the main door and stepped outside, he tried to look for toshiya; still panting for the previous room. And then, he met toshiya's eyes again. Tears-filled, darkened because of the pain and the sorrow, because of the tears. And kaoru felt even worse, even guiltier. "Toshiya... listen..." The older man talked, in his usual low, soft voice, trying to reach toshiya's arm.
But toshiya struggled, trying to fight against his sobs, wiping the tears with the back of his clothed arm. "N-no.." He stuttered, shaking his head like mad and taking a few steps back from kaoru's frame "I.. I can't take it anymore... It's tearing me apart..." he fell silent for a while "I'm tearing you apart..." he finally said, choking into a sob, looking up to meet kaoru's gaze "You're tearing me apart..."
Kaoru's eyes widened, this time filled with worry. He didn't understand. He fucking didn't understand. "What?" He said, short and simple, trying to think quickly "What do you mean? I don't understand toshiya... Look.. I am sorry okay? but..." He growled, he was supossed to be good with words, wasn't it? "You're not fucking' tearing me apart, why do you say that?"
"I can't take it anymore..." The taller bassist whispered "I can't go on pretending that I don't care anymore, that... that all this doesn't mean anything to me..." he sobbed, totally helpless and not trying to hide it this time "I... just... we just should stop it..." He covered his eyes with the back of his hands, gasping for some decent breath "please.. just stop it..."
If kaoru's eyes could wide a bit more, then they would. He was too much surprised to those words, to those unspoked feelings that toshiya was hiding for so long. He cursed himself, for not being able to see, to feel toshiya's pain. He blamed himself for being scared of his own thoughts and feelings, for not being able to talk about them, to share them with Toshiya. He felt a shudder of remorse running down his spine, and he just couldn't take it anymore. He walked towards the brown haired and took his hand away from his eyes and he made him look to him. And again, they were no words needed.
Kaoru's eyes were no longer narrowed, neither icy. They were warm and huge and speaked volumes about his feelings and his thoughts. They talked about the love, they talked about the miss and the loss, and how he couldn't take it if toshiya leave.
Toshiya's eyes weren't wet anymore, neither pained. They were slighty surprised, and if they could, the would cheer and jump because of what he could read in kaoru's ones. Toshiya's eyes talked about the happines, the longing and how glad he felt about the no rejection.
They stayed like that for what it seemed minutes, hours, days. And finally, slowly, soflty; Their lips connected, and the kiss said everything else his eyes couldn't tell.
When they both pulled off from the kiss. They smiled soflty.
"Love won't tear us apart..."
Words barely whispered. Hands brushing against each other, fingers entwined.
Words weren't important anymore, the stares were.
